Resolutions<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

At the 2021 AIPPI World Congress Online, the following four Resolutions to harmonize intellectual property (IP) laws were approved by the AIPPI Executive Committee:<\/p>\n

Patents<\/em>
\nInventiveness and sufficiency of disclosure in Artificial Intelligence (AI) inventions.\u00a0Link<\/a><\/p>\n

Trade Marks<\/em>
\n<\/strong>Registrability of trade marks against public order or morality.\u00a0Link<\/a><\/p>\n

Designs<\/em>
\n<\/strong>Industrial designs and the role of prior art.\u00a0Link<\/a><\/p>\n

General<\/em>
\n<\/strong>Reasonable awareness in compensation for infringement of IP rights.\u00a0Link<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking about the Resolutions, AIPPI’s Reporter General Anne Marie Verschuur said, \u201cAIPPI’s 2021 Resolutions illustrate both the wide range of IP covered by the Association’s work and the attention for current topics, of which AI is a prime example<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Translations<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

AIPPI\u2019s global commitment to harmonization of intellectual property laws is reflected in the fact that every Resolution is translated from English into the association\u2019s working languages of French (Brevet<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0Marque<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0Dessins<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0G\u00e9n\u00e9rale<\/a>), German (Patent<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0Marken<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0Designs<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0Allgemein<\/a>) and Spanish (Patente<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0Marcas<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0Dise\u00f1os<\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0General<\/a>). Translations of all AIPPI Resolutions, as well as thousands of other IP-related documents, can be accessed for free in the online\u00a0AIPPI library<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTranslations are important because they enhance the reach of our Resolutions<\/em>,\u201d said Anne Marie Verschuur.<\/p>\n
